Personality:
Like many of his race, Taklinn wasn't much of a communicator. He was often taciturn and quiet but when he DID decide to speak he usually had something valuable to contribute. He was loyal to his friends and brave in their defense. His sense of duty was beyond reproach.
Background:
Taklinn was born to Mekkl Hammerear Gorunn, a somewhat reclussive (as dwarves go) sage in the clan. On 1 Nythoria 4C 388, Mekkl's clan was saved from a dire attack from a warband of Kaddori raiders by the sudden appearance of several monks from a nearby monastery. The monks' intervention prevented the deaths of many tens of Mekkl's clansmembers. Mekkl decided that the best way to provide for the clan's defense, and to fulfill the clan's debt of honor to the monk's, would be to learn the monkish arts of introspection and unarmed combat. This earned him the emnity of many of his fellow clansmembers. However, he was steadfast in his resolve and left with his five sons - of whom Taklinn was the youngest - and set out to learn the monk's ways.
Taklinn and his brothers would often study at the Abbey of St. Toneve in the Donoth Highlands. It was hear that Taklinn met and befriended Nora Fencerunner's father. It was that association that led him to join Nora's adventuring party and which, in the end, was his undoing.
