Proper Name
Kingdom of Valithra
Ruler
King Hazur Ithrain. Ithrains have ruled Valithra since the First Cycle, and believe they are descended from the first Bringer.
The kings and queens of Valithra bear the following titles:
His/Her Magnificence, [Name] Ithrain, Ruler of Valithra, Protector of the Thoradeed, Duke of Anthrune, Bearer of the Zargon Sword, Lion(ness) of the North, Champion of the Gods and Servant of the Bringer.
Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Valithra is a gold Star of Valithra centered in field of green. It is shown here for the royal house with gold crown in upper left corner.
Government
Feudal. Kingdom ruled by strong central government. The Church retains a certain amount of autonomy in the Thoradeed. Though the King is the Protector of the Thoradeed, no Valithran warriors have ever stepped foot in the Thoradeed.
The kingdom has never been conquered. Its rulers have little difficulty with invading its neighbors to eliminate threats if they arise. To do this, Valithra has always maintained a strong military. Valithra maintains three armies that guard the Western March, the southern borders with Eslebi and Nythoria, and eastern borders with Ishyr and Nythoria.

Resources
Valithra soil is generally poor and rocky, with the exception of the southern areas around the River Crystal. It has formed a strong alliance with Eslebi, which is its chief supplier of wheat and rice. Its resources include: barley, hops, cattle, sheep, iron, coal, wool, marble, mercenaries and lumber.
Major Industries
What Valithra lacks in raw materials, it makes up for in industries, which include: logging, steelwork (renowned Valithran steel), fine metalwork, textiles, brewing and masonry. In addition, pilgrimages to Valithra's holy places (e.g., the Thoradeed) represent a significant tourist trade for the kingdom.
Trade
Valithra's stable political structure has provided a safe and supportive environment for trade to prosper. The kingdom has an extensive network of well-built roads that are policed and made secure for both trade and pilgrims. Nearly all of its trade occurs overland. Its primary trading partner is Eslebi. All of its trade occurs by sea. Its major trading partners are: Eslebi, Toroth, Dunihk, Nythoria and Ishyr.

The Bishop is nominated by the King and approved by the Council of Valithran Bishops; in practice, this person is usually a member of the Valithran royal family. In 414 4C, Ullian Ithrain, King Hazur's cousin, is Archbishop of Valithra and Bishop of the Thoradeed.

Notes
“As strong as Valithran steel.” (meaning indestructible)
A legendary creature called a Zargon is said to protect Valithra and its ruling house from harm. The Zargon's image has appeared in tapestries dating back to the First Cycle and the sword wielded by the rulers of Valithra is called the Zargon Sword.
